Shed Flooring and Framing

Day Three

The work on the shed continued this Memorial Day Weekend with the floor and frame going up.

Requisites of shed building appear to be filling the yard half full of stuff and allowing Scooter the Dog to believe he’s “helping”.

Bottles of water, my weeding kneeling pad, new tool belts  and extra packs of batteries to charge the drill are also needed.   Oh, and that thing-a-ma-jig.  There’s always a thing-a-ma-jig and possible a thing-a-ma-bob too!

OH! and power tools!

I didn’t ask Dadcat what, if anything, he had in that tool belt…he was so delighted to have it because it only cost a few dollars, that I didn’t dare ask him.

But I am convinced that at least half of the reason men build anything is to play with the tools of the trade!

I mean, you can see the barely concealed delight in his face as he brings yet another piece of equipment needed to build the shed!

Excuse me, I have to go knit now at Make One.    I spent the rest of the afternoon working on a birthday gift for my mom, shhhh, its a secret!

When I return,  the yard is cleaned up and some tarp and stuff covers the shed flooring to protect it from rain.

and Scooter the Wonder Dog is returned to his pen.

370 Mile Trip

DH took Friday off because it was his birthday week and we climbed in the truck and took a 370+ round trip.

We started here, at the Puget Island Ferry,

and then drove down the coastline until we reached Taft,

so we could eat at Mo’s and pick up some sticks for Scooter the Dog.

That’s the short version of our trip.  I took over 50 photos, so more will be blogged about in the coming week.

I leave you with the Birthday Boy and Scooter the Dog, walking down Taft Beach by the pier, while I follow with the camera and an armload of sticks.

Scooter the Wonder Dog Gets a New Toy

Scooter doesn’t do much;   he eats, drinks, dispenses of what he eats and drinks, encourages someone (anyone, really) to throw his ball or toy.  And he chews.

New toy for Scooter

And best of all, he is easily made happy.  We went to Coastal the other day to find 0000 steel wool for my wire jewelry projects and Chris decided it was time to replace the last Squeeker Bone Chew Toy.  One thing Scooter LOVES, is a toy with a squeeker.

Did I say Loves?

Scooter and toy

Love, bordering on OCD is more like it.

Scooter chews toy

LOVE, OCD, and Single-Minded Desire.

Scooter chews the bone

I won’t mention the gooby-slobber parts.  But lets just say, when he finally looks up and realizes we exist, he instantly wants to share.  And that is all I have to say about that.
