Troll Houses ATC’s

as always, click to biggify

Just a short post, I wanted to share my Sept ATC’s (Artist Trading Cards) this month, because I’m quite pleased with how these turned out.

I’ve been making ATC’s for over four years now, and I’m always surprised what we all come up with for each month’s theme.
How everyone interprets that, what media they use, its always a nice surprise to receive in them mail.

Troll Houses are something I would never have tried out on my own, which is why belonging to a group like this is a good thing, it stretches one’s artistic skills.

My ATC group is on Ravelry as ATC Swap, feel free to look us up and join in the fun.

There is also an active International group on Yahoo Groups too.

On Zentangling

Thanks to my Canadian friend, Katie, I have been introduced to yet another small art form. While chatting one day she showed me her Zentangles, and I had to try it.  Since my ATC Swap group is now doing “Aubergine” I did mine in all the eggplant-y purple colors I could find plus “found objects”.

Zentangling should come with a warning though, they are quite addicting, once you get going!  There is a whole Zentangle group on flickr, check out some of their beautiful art!  And here is a website explaining what Zentangle Art is and how to do it.

Materials:  colormates card stock, pental brush markers, nail head stickers, yarn,  beads, white jelly roll marker, scrapbook paper and a fine line purple pen.

Dexter “helps” and other creative stuff.

I was trying to take pictures of various projects created or being created and Dexter decides he needs to become part of my projects. See the yarn from the shawl project under his legs? And the look in his eyes?

“What mom, can’t you see I’m doing important, helpful stuff here? Admit it, you needed me in this picture!”

And, indeed, I couldn’t resist. Who could?

I completed my “Seeing Star’s” themed ATC’s and one hatalthough I still need to “top it” with the “icing”.

and another hat on the needlesJared Flood’s “Turn-a-Square” hat.

and one last mini knit for a friend

and a pair of felted slippers

but wait! There’s more, if you call now…just kidding, that’s all for now.  Check back later:)

Winter Time ATC’s

While Dexter snoozes away…I am busy making up a batch of Winter Time Themed ATC’s.

Since it is snowing like mad this week, I made a few snow themed ATC’s.
Oh, and I printed the “let it snow…” on my graphics program.

joy & celebrate atc's

Here is part of a batch I started at my friend Melissa’s, using her word stamps and embossing gun for the words “celebrate and joy”.  (Thanks, Melissa:)

After that, I added some more card stock, chalked and/or inked the edges and used 3-d glue dots to stick my Christmas inchies on there.  I spent some time preparing the Inchies in advance, so I could have a number of them ready to go.
