Airing of the Quilts

Another weekend, another quilt show!  This one was the annual “Airing of the Quilts” held in the Milwaukie Center every spring.  Pictured above is another variation on a “cats” quilt.

Chris accompanied me this time and the only quilt material purchased was made by him!

This quilt was very bright and vivid with all kinds of flora and fauna, especially featuring frogs, here’s a close-up:

And this one was very impressionistic  “watercolor” quilt with its quizillions of tiny one inch squares:

We wandered around very quickly, it was a small show and Chris had an agenda “get in, get out, cross it off the list” mindset.  When he gets like that I call him “Mr. Agenda”, because everything is about The List.

The last quilt I admired was this celtic beauty…someone spent some time on this!  On the way out I couldn’t help but admire this new sculpture outside the grounds:

here is the center close up:

and right behind it are the trees and grounds that extend back a ways from the Milwaukie Center, its a beautiful setting and we had a beautiful First Day of Spring here!

  1. Great quilts! I immediately recognized that cat quilt! It’s from a McCall’s pattern that I have saved up to do. One day.
