Hood River Apples

This weekend was the annual Hood River Harvest Fest. They moved it from a building to a gi-normous tent this year.   Chris made note of several items for future Christmas gifts and we purchased sufficient apples to bake several goodies plus have some for eating.

Fresh apple cider was tasted and tested, and we bumped into several folks we knew. And I got to meet one of my online friends in person, which was super-duper cool!

Some local creamed honey and shelled hazelnuts also found their way into our bag. The hazelnuts have already been toasted, ready for future goodies!

Small bags of home made baked caramel corn also snuck in and where consumed as a snack on the return trip, just as we were closing in on Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood.

A large Rome Beauty apple didn’t even make it to the parking lot before it was being heartily consumed in large, juicy bites between us!

No cleaning, waxing or polishing on these babies, just a pile of apples in my Mama Ro fruit bowl.
