Did a little Quilt Hopping this last weekend: Cannon Beach, Seaside, and Astoria. Would have hit up more but Quilt shops have this rather annoying tendency to keep bankers hours. It was fun though, to see what was new in the quilting and fabric world. Some real works of art out there.
Chris and I drove to Cannon Beach first, where several years earlier, I had made him some brown kitty pillowcases from fabric purchased there.
He wanted another set. (He’s just a wee bit spoiled:))
So, we went there and found some of the same fabric, and bought nearly all that was left of it. Chris is happy. He found it and bought it and threw the sack into the back of the little red car with an expression of “mission accomplished”.
Maybe his mission is accomplished, but mine is just beginning. First I wash all that material, enough for two king size pillowcases, the narrow trim and the edging pieces.
Then I iron them with some sizing and then square of the edges with the rotary cutter. Then I dig up the pattern, line up the three pieces and pin them into place.
Finally I sew them. After I thread the new spool and wind off a bobbin and set up the machine, that is. Then, I sew them up, turn them right side out and ta-da!
Kitty Pillowcases!! Exciting pictures to follow:)
