It’s cold out there. So, I turned on the heating blanket and crawled into bed with a lovely new skein of sock yarn, Knit Picks instructions for how to do two socks at once on one needle, and a size 1/47″ needle.
Then I spent an hour figuring out how to start the toes the using my method-with KP’s instructions.
(drumroll, please) and I Did It! yahoo-ey!
Next up on the learning curve will be how to do the “afterthought” heel.
Yesterday, I spent most of the day in the kitchen, cranking out batch after batch of cookies. Joanne came over and together we made four batches of shortbread, three colors of icing, one chocolate frosting, and finally, two batches of pistachio biscotto. Since the oven was fully occupied and every inch of counterspace covered with cookies and/or cookie making paraphanalia, we sent Chris out for a pizza. All in all a very satisfactory way to spend a Sunday.
Did I think to take any photos while in the midst of action? Well, no. The best I can do now is to take some “after” shots.
Valentine Shortbread cookies
and speaking of Cats, here’s Dexter pretending to hide from me in his “fort”, which is really a Costco box turned upside down with a piece of paper draped over the “entrance” where the box is cut-away. Dexter plays in and around his fort rather often, rather thinks he is a Mighty Beast!
meanwhile, Cali is taking her usual nap in her usual location
which is the laundry basket. I lined it with my felted (on purpose) fair isle sweaters, which I will someday cut up and make something with…in the meantime, they keep Cali snuggy.
